About our Program
In response to high levels of stress and anxiety among our student population, we have implemented a mindfulness program. The program is still in its prototype stage, with only a selection of the student population participating. In the 2015-2016 year, a grade four and a grade three class are both participating in the prototype stage. Feedback and results from this year's prototype will determine any future expansion.
The leading goal for this program is "how can we assist students in preparing for their future through a promotion of well-being?" The program itself is centered around the book, A Still Quiet Place: A Mindfulness Program for Teaching Children and Adolescents to Ease Stress and Difficult Emotions by Amy Saltzman, MD. This website serves as an additional learning tool in order to facilitate the implementation of the program highlighted in Saltzman's book.
As aforementioned, feedback regarding our program will help determine any further expansion. If you would like to help us by providing some feedback, please use the navigation button below.
