Mindfulness Games
- Interactive Tour- There are lots of different things to check out here! This is a great website that includes helpful information and useful strategies.
- Blowing Bubbles - Bubbles are awesome because they help us slow down, get away from computers, and encourage us to deep breathe (anchor breathe). Take the time to watch your bubbles float up, up, and away! If you are feeling stressed or anxious, pretend the bubbles are your problems . . . and blow them away!
- Play with Pinwheels - Pinwheels will help you calm down and also have some fun! Blow on the pinwheel to help practice deep breathing, and focus on the colors that you see.
- Taste Test - Taste test different foods. Concentrate on the flavors and textures that you are experiencing. If you want to put a twist on your taste test, do it blindfolded!
- Balloon Hot Potato - Play balloon hot potato with yourself or with some friends. Take time to focus on how the balloon moves while it is in the air! You could also play Balloon Volleyball.
Mindfulness Crafts
- Mindful Coloring - Using regular coloring books or pages and focus carefully on what colors you are choosing. Be present in the moment.
- Anxiety Airplanes - Write all of your worries on a piece of paper. Fold the paper into an airplane and let it fly! Or, crumple you paper into a ball and toss it in the trash!
- Glitter "Mind" Jar - Fill a jar with warm water, glitter glue, and glitter to create a tool that will help you refocus. For complete instructions, visit http://www.jugglingwithkids.com/2011/10/mind-jar.html with a parent or guardian.
- Stress Balls - With an adult's help, fill a balloon with rice or flour. Keep in mind that you may have to use two balloons so it does not break. When you feel stressed, squeeze away!
- Pinwheels - Create and color your own pinwheel and use it while you anchor breathe! Watch the colors swirl together as you are attentive in the moment. For complete instructions, view the video below. Keep in mind, you may have to ask an adult for help!
