Mindfulness - "is paying attention here and now, with kindness and curiosity, and then choosing your behavior" (Saltzman 29).
Well-being - the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy.
Emotions - a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.
Self-regulation - the ability to stay calmly focused and alert, which often involves – but cannot be reduced to – self-control.
Stress - a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
Anxiety - a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. // a nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks
Anchor Breathing - an act of deep breathing that is the foundation for mindfulness. Anchor breathing is more than a physical act, it helps us pay attention to the here and now.

Why is Anxiety Happening?
According to Dr. Shanker, in his webinar Self-Regulation and the Anxiety Epidemic, anxiety is happening due to the coming together of many different factors:
Major stressors include:
- Excessive Stress
- Contagion Effect
- Urbanization
- Parental Anxiety
- Overly Competitive Age
- Social Media

- Lack of, or poor sleep quality
- Lack of exercise
- Urbanization
- Nature deficit
- Superstimulants (junk food and junk media)
- Video games
- Social Media
- Lack of community
- Family stress
